When a member of the Force gets Ported out, the team needs people ready to hop in and share the load. That's where the Reserve Unit comes in! The Reserve Unit is a small team under Darin's command, who receive training, participate in monthly patrols and missions, and are generally kept up to snuff in case an agent gets temporarily Ported out.

The Reserve Unit is capped at five characters. As with the main unit, sign-ups are only open to Registered imPorts, due to Aegis Force's government funding. Sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis.

All applicants will have to pass a training exam, as well as an ethics test, a psychological evaluation, a background check, and the contacting of at least two character references (who can be imPort or native). They can also volunteer to undertake a lie detector test or psychic scan to verify their trustworthiness, or verify their details by sharing their government-provided personal file, but this is not mandatory.

ImPorts with criminal pasts can join the team, but only if their evaluators are satisfied they have fully mended their ways and don't pose a risk. Characters can volunteer to administer these evaluations and tests to new recruits. Evaluations and tests can be played out or handwaved according to player preference.

Name/Alias: Luther Hargreeves / Space. He goes pretty exclusively by Luther, but prefers answering to a codename when in active combat.
Outfit: He'll eventually see about acquiring a fitted combat suit, somewhat like in this icon (just uh... much bigger).
Abilities: Powers: Super strength, enhanced durability, and Televator. The first two are self-explanatory (he's a big ole half-ape); the last one means he can turn any elevator into a teleporter, even to places he hasn't visited before, so long as the destination is also an elevator.

Skills-wise, he's an extremely effective hand-to-hand combatant and skilled marksman. Good at coordination on the fly, since he used to lead a super-team. Can pilot aircraft. Not good with weird/unfamiliar technology or situations requiring more stealth/finesse.

Evaluation results: Would love to play some of this out!

Luther's a good tactician, quick to work together with a team, and quick to shield teammates or civilians from danger. The psych eval might flag some hefty social anxiety bordering on agoraphobia, but when he's in the field / running a combat simulation, he's much more confident and at ease and in his element.

He's not used to taking other people's orders, but he'll respect (in particular) Ashley & Darin enough to follow them unquestioningly; plus he's had a test run with Aegis before and he's working on this trait, since he knows it might be a problem.

The ethics test would show he's a bit too quick to kill rather than capture/arrest bad guys, but he can adjust that M.O. if someone tells him to handle it differently.

Other notes: He'll message Darin about joining up after the Jacob news goes out next month! And then in general, my main goal is just to ease Luther back into being on a team again and finding some purpose through it, since he desperately misses that sort of dynamic and being a Hero™.
