Want your character to join Aegis Force, or just want to check who is currently on the team? You've come to the right place! Information on this page can be treated as common IC knowledge: Aegis strives for transparency by keeping its roster public, although agents can maintain codenames and secret identities if they wish. Be advised that at this time, sign-ups for Aegis are ICly and OOCly capped at a maximum of fifteen characters. There are currently eight characters on the team. Additionally, a maximum of four characters from the same canon can be on the team at any given time.
Sign-ups for Aegis are open to any Registered Hero imPort - due to its government funding, Aegis is a Registered-only team! All applicants will have to pass a training exam for their chosen role, as well as an ethics test, a psychological evaluation, a background check, and the contacting of at least two character references (who can be imPort or native). They can also volunteer to undertake a lie detector test or psychic scan to verify their trustworthiness, or to share their government-provided personal file to verify their details, but this is not mandatory.
ImPorts with criminal pasts can join the team, but only if their evaluators are satisfied they have fully mended their ways and don't pose a risk. Characters can volunteer to administer these evaluations and tests to new recruits. Evaluations and tests can be played out or handwaved according to player preference. Once accepted, recruits may be paired with a welcome buddy to help them acclimate to the team- if you're interested in your character participating in this, sign up here!
When signing a character up, players must select the role(s) a character plays in the team and their regular duties they have, as well as whether they are an unpaid part time volunteer who sets their own hours and missions, or a full time employee who is paid a salary and benefits, but must accept assignments. If Aegis is to be your character's full-time job, remember to note it as such on the jobs post! Aegis members can organize themselves into units and partnerships within the broader force.
For example, Ashley is listed as having a Command/Tactical role, meaning she is both a leader in the team and a combat expert who defeats enemies in the field. This does not exclude her technical expertise in maintaining weapons, but summarizes her primary expertise in Aegis Force. She has Response and Investigation duties and is a full time employee.
Roles
Roles pertain to what a character brings to the team, their areas of strength and specialty. They are descriptive, not restrictive: there's no rule that says a Tactical agent can't rescue people or a Diplomatic agent can't fight! A character can fill 1-3 roles. A non-exhaustive list of potential roles includes:- Command: A character in a position of authority helping run the team, requiring a significant OOC commitment from the player responsible.
- Diplomacy: Focused on communications tasks and peaceful resolutions. A role for negotiators, counselors, and liaisons.
- Humanitarian: Focused on medicine, rescue, and providing assistance to those in need.A role for medics, aid workers, and healers.
- Intel: Focused on obtaining information and evidence. A role for detectives, scouts, and spies.
- Internal: In charge of enforcing Aegis' Code of Conduct, guarding against corruption and abuse of authority within the team, and evaluating prospective recruits.
- Mentor: A training and teaching specialist who both helps keep the team sharp and assists other characters in mastering their powers.
- Support: A general category for those who provide backup to other team members in different ways, such as administration, office work, or maintenance.
- Tactical: Focused on defeating enemies in combat. A role for warriors, soldiers, and bruisers.
- Tech: Focused on researching, developing and repairing the team's gear and conducting scientific investigations.
- Trainee: A supervised probationary status for novice heroes, agents under 18, or those with questionable qualifications/background. More experienced agents are responsible for their mentoring keeping them safe in dangerous situations.
Duties
Duties pertain to a character's regular, standing responsibilities in the team. They can be any mixture of:- Patrol: Make a regular circuit of an area within Maurtia Falls on the lookout for crimes to stop or people who need help. Part time volunteers can set their own schedule for a patrol, but full time agents are expected to be out there weekly if not daily if they are on patrol duty.
- Investigation: Actively pursue information on crimes and mysteries with the goal of bringing a suspect(s) to justice and resolving a case. See the casefile page for available cases, or feel free to create your own.
- Response: Staying on standby in Helix Station or Panoply Station, monitoring media and emergency services channels, ready to rapidly deploy if a crisis develops or a mission is assigned by the government.
- Mediation: Proactively resolve conflicts in the imPort community and beyond through diplomacy and communication. ImPorts may bring their disputes to Aegis for mediation, or Aegis may proactively offer its services when tensions are spotted. The goal is to manage enmity between imPorts and prevent pointless feuds and revenge violence. Mediation also includes offering training to imPorts who want to better control their powers, and to allied heroes looking to hone their skills.

Finally, if you are interested in having a character join Aegis but find that sign-ups are closed, add your character's name to the wait list to be notified once a slot opens up! There is also the Reserve Unit for those with characters willing to step up when agents are temporarily Ported out.

Date: 2018-07-09 12:21 pm (UTC)FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full time
OUTFIT: Her Alliance uniform around the base; armor made for her by Darin in the field
ABILITIES: Ashley is a Lieutenant Commander in the human space marines, with ten years in said marines. A good leader with bold tactics, her training includes use of light through to heavyweight armor, first aid, marine hand-to-hand (though she confesses she's "more or less a straight up puncher"). She's a quick and accurate marksman who can make headshots from a hundred metres (so she says off-handedly, probably further), trained in sniper rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, and pistols; she has a certain affection for shotguns but a preference for assault rifles and sniper rifles. Her superpowers are Synthesis, the ability to remotely access the information of and control networked devices by virtue of being part networked machine herself; and Shadow Step, instant travel through shadows to places she's been to before.
ROLES: Command and Tactical
DUTIES: Response and Investigation
EVALUATION RESULTS: Handwave: Her soldiering skills come to her much more naturally than her technopathy and she's also visibly more confident with them. She mainly uses her technopathy for passive monitoring (eg. tracking targets by networked stuff on them) and tends to look faintly unsettled after actively using it (eg. controlling something).
OTHER NOTES: Joined up when Aegis Force started in tactical work alone during an age shift plot, added internal after the age shift plot, took full time command in October 2019.

Date: 2018-07-17 12:43 pm (UTC)FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-time heck yes
OUTFIT: Stormtrooper armor
ABILITIES:
• Summon Stormtrooper equipment: His full load-out can be selectively summoned to him. This includes his armor, blaster rifle, one thermal detonator, and two medkits with bacta (healing substance), combat stims, and other supplies for basic trauma care.
• Improbably good aim: Applies to both shots taken and thrown objects. Target must be within range, within sight, and not have any preternatural dodging or mind-altering powers active.
• Electricity channeling: Basically Sith lightning powers.
• Stormtrooper infantry sergeant training: He will dive straight into danger to complete his objectives, with no regard for personal cost. If the only option to get the job done is to die, he will do it. He has two years experience guarding a high-value target, and is quick to notice and react to perceived threats.
ROLES: Tactical, Internal, Mentor (for combat)
DUTIES: Patrol, Response
EVALUATION RESULTS: All these can be played out if desired, but I think the last two or three may be especially important to making sure he fits in.
• His electricity powers are currently underdeveloped due to a past trauma.
• Any combat sims or exams for tactical will show a willingness to take big risks with his own safety more often than is advisable.
• His ethics check is going to come up with some issues due to, well, being a brainwashed soldier for an evil empire. He agrees that civilians should be protected, and feels strongly about those who deliberately put them at risk. But at the same time, he sees no contradiction in following orders that will result in civilian casualties to complete an objective.
• He will volunteer for a psychic scan, which is going to show some weird things if they come up: He has been heavily conditioned, past what's normally possible with propaganda alone. His mind is stuck in certain patterns regarding ethics, the rule of law, the Empire he's from, and his place in the universe.
• 622 is twelve and a half years old. Due to accelerated aging, he's physically and mentally 25, but this caused some legal issues at his government-assigned job when he first showed up in MoM. This is definitely going to show up on his application.
OTHER NOTES: 622 has been desperate to use his skills, but by Imperial law he couldn't serve another government's military or police force without authorization. This is his chance to get back to some sense of normalcy, so he really wants to make this work.
If at all possible, he'd like to not be given solo assignments. Being isolated has been psychologically hard on him, and he freely acknowledges that he does a lot better when he works with others.

OUTFIT: u know what's up
ABILITIES: Flight, sword mastery, aether (halving an opponent's defense and increasing her own attack in the same movement). She's got excellent hand-to-hand combat and is beginning a mastery of the lance. Her speed is the key factor in her abilities, but she is also able to give way to incredible bursts of near inhuman strength when urgency (or comic effect) requires it.
ROLES: Mentor, Tactical, Trainee
DUTIES: Patrol, Response
EVALUATION RESULTS: Handwave. Her strengths are in her experience with extreme disasters and commanding units in battle. She'll not hide the fact she fought a losing war against an apocalyptic event, nor the fact that she's still green in a lot of leadership areas. She's stubbornly proud of her heritage and her skills, however, despite the eagerness to keep learning more.
The pressure to take on more than her fair share will be apparent in any memory probing, being a princess of a failing nation trying to keep the last shreds of her people alive and all. Relating to those kinds of matters, she can become very tunnel-vision on bad results and too impatient to try and combat it without thinking it entirely through.
OTHER NOTES: She's here primarily motivated by the threat of another goddang apocalyptic entity eating the world, and if she feels she's not making headway in helping stop that here, she may impatiently peace out. She knows there's strengths in like-minded numbers, however, so.

Date: 2018-11-09 10:57 pm (UTC)FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Part time
OUTFIT: His normal clothes
ABILITIES: Super strength, super resilience and athleticism, master blacksmith
ROLES: Tactical/Tech/Trainee
DUTIES: Patrol and Equipment Maintenance Specialist
EVALUATION RESULTS: Ha5ndwave: Physically he is in tip top shape, able to control his enhanced abilities incredibly well due to having repressed them his entire life. Mentally able to adapt to a large number of combat situations, though he is reckless with his own safety, he does not endanger those on his team. Susceptible to emotional trauma, especially if someone he is partnered with gets injured, which can lead to explosive consequences in his case.
CHARACTER REFERENCES PROVIDED: Handwave: Jacob, Archie, Lucina
OTHER NOTES: When Darin commits to something, he always gives 110%. That said, he will take his assignments and responsibilities in Aegis quite seriously. He's worked a great deal with many soldiers in his country's army back home, and knows how to take orders and work as part of a team. That said, he's also made his potential emotional instability quite clear before joining. He will take on whatever mission is handed down, but his primary concern is OTO and especially Atropos.

Date: 2019-01-03 04:01 am (UTC)FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full Time
OUTFIT: His Jedi clothes, because good guys look good in black I guess.
ABILITIES: Luke is exceptionally powerful in the Force, the full details of which can be found in his app. The description is a little out of date, but he still has near limitless potential. Because Skywalkers.
ROLES: Diplomacy, Humanitarian, Mentor, Tactical
DUTIES: Response, Mediation
EVALUATION RESULTS: Handwaved. Jacob definitely would remember Luke from the Mars mission; especially the whole part where he showed off powers he hadn't disclosed before, and went off on his own on a rescue mission no one else approved of. Luke is a lot more mellow now; there's still some of that spirit of his, but it's much more muted than before. He's also a lot more open about who he is and what he's done back home, which... probably explains a lot.
CHARACTER REFERENCES PROVIDED: Handwaved. Luke doesn't provide any outside of Aegis.
OTHER NOTES: If the Imperials already in Aegis want to try and push back against him joining, I would love to thread that out.

Date: 2019-02-19 04:46 am (UTC)FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Part Time
OUTFIT: Her Paladin armor for instances where some defense is needed, her space suit when it's not.
ABILITIES: Strength and agility above that of humans. Shapeshifting limited to some manipulation of height and skintone. Empathic healing and manipulation of "souls", energy manipulation, empathic telepathy, and development of alien technology that can interface and draw power from living energy. The full breakdown can be found in her application.
ROLES: Diplomacy, Humanitarian, Intel, Tech (see other notes)
DUTIES: Mediation, Response
EVALUATION RESULTS: Handwaved, unless you're interested in playing it out. In which case, let's! Physically, Allura excels in agility, and is strong enough to bend metal with some effort — however, her stamina seems to be lagging behind her other scores, and she shows some symptoms of overexertion. Allura's a calm and brilliant professional who has an extensive wartime background, including interplanetary diplomacy, rebel leadership, tactics and command, and field combat. This does throw some flags for stress levels in her psychological evaluation, but it's far more repressed than you'd expect given the circumstances. She's highly team-oriented and focused on the needs of other people. Occasionally struggles with Earth idioms. And yes, she'll consent to a lie detector, sure.
CHARACTER REFERENCES PROVIDED: Darin Altway, the other Paladins of Voltron (Keith, Lance, Pidge)
OTHER NOTES: Besides the usual motivation of wanting to protect the world, she's also interested in the possibility of doing some R&D. Altean technology is incredibly advanced, whether you're interested in weaponry, robotics, or medical technology. However, the work is neither quick nor cheap, so assigning her to a project would require taking her off other duties until it's complete.

OUTFIT: Normal outfit | Crow
ABILITIES: Dream Walking, Cognitive Realignment, Wild Card Persona: detailed in his application. He's also a skilled investigator, handy with hand guns and swords, and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty or taking action.
ROLES: Intel / Tactical
DUTIES: General
EVALUATION RESULTS:
CHARACTER REFERENCES PROVIDED: Handwaved: Lucina and Adachi Tohru.
OTHER NOTES: Goro is nervous about letting the team down due to his past but he will work hard to prove otherwise. He has connections with both the Nonah and Heropa PDs because he's worked as a detective for both and will offer to go through police data bases for investigations should something come up.

Date: 2019-10-18 06:10 am (UTC)Full time/part time: Full Time
Outfit: Her paladin armor when on missions, otherwise whatever outfit she threw on that day.
Abilities: Pidge is a good fighter with her bayard and a master at hacking systems. She’s also quite proficient at adding onto existing technology, such as the green lion’s cloaking shield.
The Green Lion and Rover2.0 would follow Pidge on missions. Green is able to turn herself invisible and use almost any technology Pidge can create with her powers. The lion also has a laser blast she shoots from her mouth. Rover is more of just a drone, but Pidge has an app on her phone she uses to ‘see’ through his camera so he’s very useful for scouting.
Nature Manipulation: Pidge can turn various forms of flora (flowers, acorns, trees, etc) into weapons or other objects as she wishes. To do so, she has to understand that all things in the universe are connected and made up of the same materials and access those connections. NOTE: Weapons she makes with this power can only be used by her and Green, so she can’t just magic up overpowered cannons for everyone.
Roles: Tech/Intel/Tactical
Duties: Patrol/Investigation
Evaluation results: Would love to play out if able. Pidge’s greatest strength is her technical skills, both with and without her power, she can understand and build most technologies by hand and absorbs information rapidly. Her weaknesses would be in fighting strength, while she can hold her own in most fights she’s more agile than strong and has to keep her distance for the most part.
She doesn’t necessarily have a criminal past, mainly because it doesn’t seem like she was ever charged with anything, but she will admit to having hacked into her worlds military several times trying to find the truth about her father and brother’s disappearance. She was caught several times and eventually had to go undercover as a recruit to continue her search which is what led to the whole Paladin of Voltron thing. She will also admit she started off as a paladin for selfish reasons but quickly made the war her first priority.
Character references provided: Handwave. Pidge would use Luke, Darin, and either Akobi or Cayde-6 as a reference. All would be able to talk about her skills with technology and willingness to help out when asked. Luke and Darin would also know her combat abilities.
Other notes: Helping to save the world and the people here would be her main motive for joining up, but she’d also quickly take over supplying tools and equipment for people.
OOC Fun Gender Stuff Because Pidge: Pidge is biologically female and refers to herself internally as female, but due to events in her own world she spent a few years passing herself off as male and using male pronouns. Typically she still wears more gender neutral clothes and doesn’t bother to correct anyone if they assume she’s male. If your character misgenders her she won’t notice and won’t be bothered. Just in case that’s a thing for anyone ICly or OOCly.

Date: 2020-04-16 07:19 pm (UTC)Full time/part time: Part time
Outfit: N/A
Abilities: Cybertronian form (21ft tall, associated strengths plus vehicle alt mode), string theory ability. Knock Out is also an accomplished medic of inorganics, and a still-learning one on organics. (He can keep you from dying, but some of the finer points he's still working on.) He's also a talented engineer/scientist who has specialized in making tech, which he will be providing to Aegis for their use.
Roles: Tech / Humanitarian / Support
Duties: Patrol & Response
Evaluation results: (HANDWAVE) Knock Out's used to working within a chain of command, so he'll fold into that aspect with ease. He seems amused by the ethics test questions, and while none of them throw up any red flags, the interviewer may definitely get the feeling that they're being humoured. Background check will come up clean other than a minor altercation with a native some months ago that was cleared up without any charges. He'll decline to take any kind of lie detector or psychic scan, particularly the latter. Psychological evaluation will point toward a strong ENTP type personality, a definite pragmatic approach to problems that could border on callous in certain situations, and a very, very healthy ego.
Character references provided: Darin Altway, Jane Foster
Other notes: Darin invited him to join Aegis directly.
Other notes: While Knock Out's used to working in a military setting, being on a TEAM specifically is pretty new to him. Decepticons don't really do team things. So interactions with other members and getting him to loosen up would be appreciated!
